What makes The Pokemonguild so great?

To help make our guild stronger we surveyed a number of top dofus players on the factors that are a frequent downfall to many guilds.

They overwhelmingly agreed that the top issues with bad guilds are:

problems with low level guilds that can't have many members.
guilds with high level inactive account holders (sometimes highest levels not playing), and just listed to try to "trick" other members into thinking the guild is good.
guild groups so weak they often die in even easy dungeons
guilds that often bring in other guilds members to dungeon runs, causing everyone to wait long periods or quit before the end
lack of excitement.

We agree and work hard to provide very productive guild runs with a extremely high success rate under some of the top names on the server. This includes the #1 Rushu winner of the "running of the dungeons" contest, our leader -invisigoth-.

Pokemonguild is one of the rushu server’s longest running high performance 'raiding' guilds. Since 2005 we’ve seen many copycat guilds come and go. Were the often imitated and never duplicated.... Pokemon Guild.

GUILD CHAT RULES

The concept of "guild members being nice to eachother in guild chat" has been around since the start of pokemon (see GUILD RULES tab to left ) but its time to review these again.

So In order to have a nice environment for all the players of pokemon guild starting June 27^th 2011 were re-listing rules for guild (/g) chat here.

The Basics

1. Be nice to fellow guildmates in /g chat

2. Don't call your fellow guild members bad words

3. If somone is using guild chat to harrass you or another guild mate screen shot and show vis within 7 days of date stamp on screen shot.

4. Unwelcome harrassing or trash talking will not be allowed. We want /g guild chat to be fun for everyone.

Need more detailed notes on this?

1. Be nice to other players in guild chat

2. Being nice is defined as “No public bashing, harassing or other public complaining of other guild members in /g <purple> guild chat.

3. If someone is not “being nice” please screen shot it <with date and time> and show invisigoth if you wish to complain about a member breaking this rule.

4. If another guild member asks you to stop “Public harassing” of him in guild chat you need to stop. Public belittlement will not be tolerated

5. If you have a issue with another member then talk in <private> IMs to that player or in group chat but not in purple ( /g ) chat. In the event you dont want "private IMs" then simply put the player in question on enemies list.

6. If people use purple (/g ) chat to harass other guild members action will be taken against them based on –invisigoth-s final word on matter.

7. Action can include being banned from the guild, again -invisigoth- will decide outcome.

8. Any complaints without a screen shot don't count.

9. The screen shot must be recent, we define "recent" as last 7 days (1 week). If you want to show a older screen shot to show a history of breaking the "/g rule" you can but the complaint must be for the "recent" screen shot from last 7 days.

10. We will define these rules more as needed.

NOTE: Again don’t go to invisigoth without screen shot with date and time.

Why would we want any kind of rules on "guild chat"?

1. We want guild chat to be fun for everyone to read and not harrassing to eachother.

2. We want complaints to be backed up with "FACT" not "opinion" (example: a screen shot and not just saying "oh he does it all the time")

3. We want guild members to be supportive in open guild chat.

Q: So ask yourself.... is it wrong to want guildmembers to be nice to eachother?

A: We think no!

DOFUS TIPS 101: How to get the most out of dofus

1. Play your own accounts.

While it may seen exciting to log someone elses higher level account your really cheating yourself the experience of learning each class from the start. Ultimately even if you can log some current or ex players account it’s not only breaking the rule its also never really your account. Do yourself a favor and “play by the rules” and only play accounts YOU pay for from day 1.

2. Do different dungeons.

While its easy to 'say' you run different high end dungeons....really do it. Sure you can level killing one thing over and over but that’s not really playing the game, that’s just grinding levels….. How much fun would Mario Brothers be if you only played one part of one level over and over and over and over and over and over?

3. Play with real people

While multi-clienting is fun the point of a MMO is to play with other people, otherwise you may as well be playing a single player game on a console. Feel free to multi client some (and accounts YOU OWN) but don’t just run 8 people to soft oak over and over. Play with real people when possible, that’s how you get the most out of mmos.

LEXX TURNS 200!

On January 5th Lexx with a group of guildmates did battle with the monsters in xmas island dungeon #2 and after the dust settled Pokemon Guild had a new level 200.... LEXX!

Lexx made 200 look easy as he was in no rush to make the final level, he just earned xp via normal guild runs with no grinding for hours.

Everyone knows Pokemon loves perc attacks and defends but when Nefertum' break dofus rules about harrassment (using bad words in game) a little pay back is in order.

NEW MEMBER TO THE POKEMON FAMILY OF GUILDS

MurDeR INC

Back in 2007 Pokemon had several fun “guild wars” that including but not limited to “Muder Inc.” We never officially declared war on MurDeR INC but they seemed hell bent on destroying us… needless to say in the end they were disbanded as a guild and we kept the name as as a prize of war. Us owning the guild may be the only way to tame the agressive beast of a guild known as MurDeR INC.

Starting August 1st Pokemon is pleased to include the guild Murder Inc to the Pokemon Family of guilds.

EVE invites us to attack a perc..... POKEMON WINS

You know its funny when a guild "invites" you to attack their perc, It tends to be a "set up" trap with a great defend waiting.

Well in EVE's case they invite us to attack their perc. We take 8 people on (not even our 8 highest) and in the end all the pokemon players are alive and all the eve dead. Eve were making all sorts of excuses why they lost but with two enis they should of done much better.

Level 2 Perc kill record stands....

can anyone top this?

Ok so here we have a single level 2 killing the perc. Now we all know that

they added rock due to "try to end" this type of sad sad loss.... so now

beating it with a single level 2 would be a long long battle (if even possible)...

so now were looking for the lowest team to beat them.

Attacking them with low levels isnt a big deal if you lose but so very sweet

when you win. We suggest the following:

1. Have 1-3 100+

2. Add the rest 5-7 being low level (perhaps 1-10 level players)

3. ATTACK! collect yourself some great drops.

4. Spread the word, killing percs with low levels is craxy fun!

Its fun for you and gives other guilds a fighting chance!

Wabbit Island Information - How to get wabbit potion (for new guys)

Basicly to get to island you need

1 Bluish Jelly

1 Mint Jelly

1 Strawberry Jelly to Otomai's Assistant

Then at (-2,-4) talk to npc for wabbit potion. (Use talk not exchange)

Then To visit Wabbit Land: Talk to Lily at (9,-2) who will charge you 500 kamas to take you to the island.

Once on wabbit island you need the keys

Wabbit is allot of fun but Wabbit Castle does require 3 Wabbit Keys. These keys are quest items, and thus cannot be traded. However, they only have to be collected once. Once you have the keys, you can enter the castle, found at (24,-13).

Get one key from Wabbit of the high noon at (24,-6). You can reach this map from (23,-6) or through the burrow at (25,-6). This key looks like a carrot.

Get another from Wabbit of Peawly Mowning at (27,-11). The easiest way to this map is to enter the burrow at (26,-8) and exit at (26,-11). This key looks a little bit like pikachu.

Get the third from Wabbit of the wolling evening at (22,-5). There is no easy way to this map. Enter the main burrow network of the central island (26,-8) and exit at (23,-10) by taking the top right tunnel, following the tracks through the passage and in the next room take the lower exit at the left. Then run accross that path and follow the tunnel to the next room (24, -9). Take the bottom exit to (24, -8) as the others are blocked, and then the top onewhich leads back to the other side of the previous room (24, -9). Then up and out. Enter either burrow at (23,-9), pass through the maze (be careful not to step on the squares with holes or you will fall, so try walking diagonally) and exit at (22,-6) and arrive at 22,-5 where you will find Wabbit of the wolling evening. If you find the blacked out section of the maze too difficult, Skippeh has made a walkthrough. This key looks like an eaten carrot.

The route to the third key has a dark map in the Wabbit Undergrounds at (23,-7) with spots where you can fall down.The following image shows the tiles that are safe to walk on.

Perc Fight Night Recap 11/13.

Pokemonguild had a great Perc Fight Night. We Killed 11 percs starting small with Equniox (2), Serlane Kerm, Fictitious, Einherjar and moved onto Nocturne of Shadows, Flying Daggers (2) etc. and ending with a HUGE battle (and pokemon win) with one of the longest running and largest guilds on Rushu.... STORM TROOPERS.

Don't do the crime if you can't do the time!

Just a little reminder to follow the rules of dofus. Failure to "follow the rules" can get you sancationed and even banned (from the game its self) for really bad behavior.

If you get yourself banned (from dofus) the only person you have to blame is yourself for doing the "bad behavior". Learn from your bann and don't repeat the bad behavior or risk further action from dofus.

It takes something pretty bad to get banned so if someone you know is banned then consider THEY DESIRVE IT.

Dofus carefully review the facts that include game logs, ip addreses and full sized screen shots. If someone banned says "I was banned for no reason ...thats a lie as (again) it takes something pretty serious to get banned.

Watch your actions and Know the rules.......be good people!

8/11/08 Market research frim NPD reports USA has 174,000,000 "gamers" and that 3% of those (over 5,000,000 USA players) play games 40+ hours a week. Thats as much as many americans work and more than tv viewing for the same group.

As Media continues to get better and the average age of gamers continues to grow the new avg age of a "gamer" in the USA stands at 34.

While they didnt give a percent they did say "The majority of extreme gamers are not children and reflects the avg gamer age of 34".

ESA Stats: Average U.S. Gamer 33 Years Old

Officials from U.S. trade organization the ESA (Entertainment Software Association) have released the latest edition of its annual report entitled Essential Facts About The Video Games Industry, in which it is suggested that the average age of an American gamer is thirty-three.

According to the report, which questioned a sample of 1,700 U.S. households, 69 percent of American “heads of households” play computer or video games. The average gamer was said to be thirty-three years of age, with 31 percent under eighteen years of age, 44 percent between eighteen and forty-nine and 25 percent fifty years or older. The average age of the most frequent game purchaser is forty years of age.

The report claims that women aged eighteen or older represent a significantly greater portion of the game-playing population than boys age seven or younger (23 percent), with the total games population put at 62.0 percent male and 38.0 percent female.

The average adult gamer has been playing games for twelve years, with adult males averaging ten years and females eight years. The report also shows that 44 percent of most frequent game players play online, up from 19 percent in 2000. Males account for 58 percent of online gamers and females 42 percent.

Study Reveals Gamer Age, Gender Surprises

A recent list of facts published by the Entertainment Software Association reveals that 38 percent of gamers are women, despite common stereotypes that say otherwise.

Their numbers also point out that female gamers over the age of 18 make up 31 percent of all gamers, a larger percentage than that of male gamers under the age of 17 (20 percent), a group traditionally seen as the majority.

Also of note is the fact that the average age of the typical gamer is 33.

More importantly for those marketing types out there, the average age of the most frequent game purchaser is a positively geriatric 38, and during 2007, 80 percent of console game purchasers were over the age of 18.

Interestingly, the ratio of female to male gamers and the average gamer's age seems to have stagnated over the last few years as the ESA's own numbers show an almost imperceptible change.

Ok lets look at mmo players....

Have you ever wondered what the average of male mmo players vs female? Have you ever wondered the average amount of time played? Its not secert that wow has allot of players so it makes a good case study of the average demographic of a mmo gamer and heres what I found.

From the survey data, the average age of the WoW player is 28.3 (SD = 8.4). 84% of players are male. 16% are female. Female players are significantly older (M = 32.5, SD = 10.0) than male players (M = 28.0, SD = 8.4). On average, they spend 22.7 (SD = 14.1) hours per week playing WoW. There are no gender differences in hours played per week.

So what do we learn from this? Well it seems that men and women both play average amount of time playing per week (22.7 hours a week...im sure hardcore gamers play that and more) and it seems the average isnt even under 28!

SO WHAT DOES THIS ALL MEAN?

It's predicted that the average age of "gamers" will also increase as kids who grew up in the late 80s early 90s arcade boom get older. If a child grew up playing baseball then he/she often grows into a adult who likes baseball and the same holds true for gamers.... and thats to say nothing of the senior home playing wii sports in the tv ads.

Be nice to fellow players / Basic Rules

1. Treat others (despite level) in guild with respect. Signing on and calling everyone "noob" (or far worse) isn't nice and can become a warning or worse.

2. People farm to level, if their group is full (or capped for the thing their farming) respect their wishes to not add more and water down xp. Make your own group and help others below you too.

3. If you look at the top players in the guild youll find they do allot of guild runs at set times. Plan ahead and try to be on at those times and join them for some high xp runs.

4. If you dont have something nice to say don't say it. Being a "Negative Nancy" is not a welcome behavior in guild chat.

5. If you are not availble when a run start don't go complaining in guild chat that you couldnt go. We may not personaly IM each person invites, be on at the set times and be alert to groups that start.

6. Don't span guild chat with bad words or talking about "body parts"

7. keep control of your pc at all times, dont let others type things on your account

8. Don't account share.

Guild Chat 101

1. Dont ask for persoanl information.

2. Don't ask questions for a 3rd party, let them ask themselves.

3. Don't use language that can get you banned by dofus

4. Don't spam the same thing over and over.

Percs 101

Percs can be placed by anyone with the right. The perc right is given out at 10,000 guild xp. Percs being attacked are part of the game so expect your perc to be attacked, but even if only lives awhile it collects guild xp and thats good too.

Please note that percs being attacked (and the act of attacking percs) is part of dofus. Their is no limit on how many percs we can attack or how many times someone may attack our percs in any given day.

PVP 101

Rushu is a dofus PVP server. Heres come Q/A

Question 1. Can someone attack me wings down (or no wings)

Answer: Yes they can, its all part of dofus.

Question 2. Can more than one person attack me (3 vs 1, 5 vs. 1 or even 8 vs 1)?

Answer: Yes Having the risk of more than one person attack you is part of the game.

Question 3. Can I attack the same person more than 1 time in 24 hours.

Answer: We suggest you dont.

Question 4. I want to have a guild event but dont want (the risk of) people to agro me / eachother what do I do?

Answer: Have it in a locked house or a non agro screen.

Question 5: can I call other other players bad words?

Answer: NO!

Question 6: should I take video footage or screen shots of someone agroing me?

Answer: only if your dumb as its all allowed in dofus (see question 1)

Question 7: Someone is Im'ing me who I dont want to...what do I do?

Answer: Take off your friends list and Put on your enemies, dont beg same person for tot runs (and matts) becuase your not in pokemonguild.

BEAWARE: Some 'bad people' may come to your screen to harrass you or try to "draw you into a fight" just in hopes of screen shotting and ticketing you. Don't fall for this lame trap. Be nice to everyone despite if they are being a jerk themselves.
